QUILT: The Story of the Hope Weavers was a music, movement and dance show in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the organisation. It was also a celebration of the beat and potential of our youth and their talents and resilience: to turn negatives into positives, to carry on in the midst of obstacles and trauma. The show was about different stories of children and young people who are part of Karos & Kambro, and who went through our programmes and how each of them changed and followed their dreams against all odds.
Since the production in July, the symbolic idea of QUILT has grown to much more than a story...
Our objectives with QUILT, is to spread a message of hope and warmth (karos is a blanket made out of animal skin). However, all of us are actually blocks and pieces of one big blanket: a big quilt or lappieskombers.. A quilt that could tell a story of warmth and love…
We also want to invite you to become part of our virtual quilt – helping us to weave stories of hope, service and celebration for South Africa …
